This past week, I had the distinct honour of being selected to attend the Pacific Northwest Presidents Elect Training conference in Seattle Washington.

When first asked if I would consider being the President of OUR Rotary club, I was filled with trepidation, but can honestly say that I have never felt so supported in a decision. I look up to our club members in such an intense way that it I felt as though if THEY felt I could do the job, I would be fine!  Well, so far, so good!  The training was incredible, and enlightening, and any one of a thousand adjective I could use to describe it.  I delved deep into what it is that Rotary does, what we are all about, and the direction we are going. What I was most taken aback by was how truly progressive the Rotary Club of Kitimat is, in the grand scheme of Rotary. We are recreating our club for existence, and thriving in the 21st Century. The changes we have made are intentional, deliberate, and all encompassing.  The Rotary Club of Kitimat is Certainly NOT your grandparents Rotary club. It is progressive, exciting, and gaining momentum! I was filled with a sense of overwhelming pride, not only of the overall organization, but of My little Club that Can (AND ALWAYS DOES!)
